United Kingdom Wary of Online Casinos

A recent survey conducted by XTN Data shows that most of the UK lacks confidence in online casino regulations.  The survey revealed that only 20% of players in the United Kingdom are convinced that authorities are doing enough to monitor online casinos.

XTN Data is a research consultancy firm.  The release of their survey has a timely relevance.  Next year a Gambling Act will be put into action in the UK.  For the first time, online casino sites based in the UK will be made legal.

Up to one thousand internet users participated in the survey.  The survey questions were geared toward getting player points of view on online casinos.  Interviewees were asked where they played and what they thought of the online gambling business.

Another interesting trend in the data showed that at least one third of players questioned felt that a UK based casino would be much more trustworthy than those already established in foreign countries.  XTN Data’s survey also pinned online sports betting sites as the worst in minor-access prevention.

Interestingly, the survey revealed that over half of the respondents were not familiar with how to play most casino games, nor did they feel that the online casinos acted as effective teachers.  XTN Data owner, Greig Harper, said “As online gambling becomes more mainstream gaming operators need to do everything they can to attract new users including teach them basic strategies for games.”
